Cuttack: Veteran Odia cine and television actress Anita Das died of cardiac arrest here Friday. She was 57. She breathed her last at her residence in Shelter Square here at 11.30am.
The news came as a shock to the Odia film fraternity. Actors, actresses, directors, producers and others from Ollywood rushed to the deceased’s residence to pay their homage.
Anita Das acted in over 100 films and received many accolades during the long period of her career. She had her debut as heroine in ‘Jajabara’ in 1975, but she shone more in mother roles in later years. Her acting talent won praise even with her debut movie.
Anita’s Her other performances were basically as supporting cast in films like Swapna Sagara, Ki Heba Sua Posile, Pua Mora Kala Thakura, Bahudibe Mo Joga Balia, Gadhi Janile Ghara Sundara, Sapath and Abhaya, which were well-appreciated by cine lovers.
