New Delhi: Nowadays, news channels organise debates on various topics to present different perspectives. However, these discussions are no longer limited to civil exchanges; they sometimes escalate into fights and abuses. Recently, during a live debate on a reputed news channel, a heated argument between panellists turned into a physical scuffle, and the video has since gone viral on social media.
Times has hit a new low for TRP—zero ethics, zero dignity.
Their panelists are literally beating and abusing each other on live TV. And these are the same people who lecture the opposition!

According to reports, the incident occurred during a discussion on a issue. The debate quickly escalated from a heated argument to verbal abuse and a full-blown scuffle. Despite efforts from the show’s host and others to intervene, the situation spiralled out of control.
One user commented, “This is the biggest example of how low news channels can stoop for TRP.” Another remarked, “Those who preach moral lessons on TV are themselves engaging in such disgraceful behaviour. Shameful!”
This is not the first time such an incident has taken place during a TV debate. In the past, live debates on several news channels have witnessed scuffles and the use of abusive language. The declining standard of journalism is evident, as channels seem willing to go to any extent in the race for TRP.
News debates are meant to facilitate healthy discussions based on facts, but they have increasingly become platforms for chaos and controversy. This raises the question: Do news channels need to reconsider their approach and policies?
