Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths Saturday arrested a senior assistant working at the office of the chief district medical officer (CDMO) in Cuttack on the charge of possessing properties 201 per cent in excess of his known sources of income.
Kishore Kumar Sahani and his spouse were booked under different Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018, a Vigilance statement said, adding that several movable and immovable assets were found in his and his spouse’s names.
The properties included one triple-storey building at Jobra, a building and a poultry farm at Choudwar, both in the Cuttack district.
The Vigilance sleuths also detected 19 high-value plots – 18 in and around Cuttack city, and one in Jatni of Khurda district, Rs 330 lakh in cash, gold ornaments weighing 135gm, bank and postal deposits worth Rs 55.48 lakh, a four-wheeler and three two-wheelers.
“After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant, City Hospital, office of CDMO, Cuttack were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets (DA) which were 201% in excess of his known sources of income,” the GANESH PUJA AHEAD statement said.
