Cuttack, April 1: Violent protests erupted at the Bhubananda Orissa College of Engineering (BOSE) here as students went berserk and ransacked the college premises.
The victim had also lodged a complaint with the police in this regard. The incident took an ugly turn Wednesday when the students, angered by the inaction of the college authorities, vented their ire by ransacking the college property. Police intervened in the matter and pacified the agitators.
‘‘The instructor tried to touch me even as I tried to stop him many times. He asked me to keep my mouth shut about the incident. I want the accused and the principal removed from the college,’’ said the second semester student of mechanical department, Wednesday. However, when asked, principal PK Mohanty said disciplinary action was being taken against the accused.
“We have registered a case on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim. We will probe the matter thoroughly and take action,” said inspector-in-charge Arun Kumar Swain.
