Patna: A shocking incident has come to light in Patna, Bihar, where a fifth-class government school student set herself on fire in the toilet.
The incident angered locals, who expressed their outrage at the police. During the unrest, a police inspector was beaten. The incident took place at Chitkohra Girls School in Patna. It is being said that the 12-year-old student was a resident of Damdia. However, she died during treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) Wednesday.
Angry people and family members also vandalised the school. According to reports, kerosene was seized from the toilet. The video of the incident has been shared on social media from a handle named Rajiv Ranjan Kumar.

Following the incident, people again vandalised the school, venting their anger on the police. A security guard was injured in the clash, while tables, chairs and important documents were damaged and torn.
The SP was present at the scene, and the police somehow managed to pacify the crowd.
The girl’s family alleged that the school’s security is very weak, claiming she could not have committed suicide and that someone had set her on fire. They also accused the school administration of negligence. Police said the matter is under investigation.
