Anandpur: A woman had a narrow escape when a LPG cylinder exploded at Akarua village under Anandpur police limits in Keonjhar district Thursday. The explosion was so intense that a portion of the house wall collapsed under its impact.
According to reports, Jhumuri, wife of Atul Jena was cooking while the incident happened. She had moved out for another household chore when the LPG cylinder which was provided under Ujjwala Yojana of the Centre, exploded. While Jhumuri escaped unhurt, a portion of a wall of the house collapsed under its impact.
Though the exact reason of the cylinder explosion is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the cylinder might have developed a leakage.
