Weather alert July 21: IMD Bhubaneswar warns of very heavy rainfall in these places

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert July 21 informed that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in different parts of Odisha over next four days.

The weather agency further informed that the low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast now lies over south Odisha – north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining northwest & west-central Bay of Bengal with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level.

It is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards across south Odisha – north Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next two days.

Upto 8.30 AM of July 22: As per the Orange Warning (be prepared), heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Bolangir districts.

As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur and Balasore districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of July 22 to 8.30 AM of July 23: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Deogarh and Boudh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 31 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 34.3 degree Celsius was recorded at Hirakud while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
