Cuttack: Odisha Crime Branch (CB) Thursday arrested a youth for opening a fake group on Whatsapp and circulating obscene videos on the social media platform.
The arrestee has been identified as Pawan Agarwal of Jatni in Khurda district.
According to reports, Pawan had created a Whatsapp group comprising of some of his family members, where he basically posted videos of sexually explicit content. However, instead of using his own identity, he used another fake account of him named as ‘Giridhari Halam’ to post the porn videos.
Giridhari whose name was used in the shameful act lodged a complaint at Jatni Cyber Police Station October 15.
Acting on the complaint, officials of the State CB started an investigation into the matter. On tracking his mobile location, police learnt that he was in Haryana. Then the cops went to Haryana and nabbed the accused.
