Thakurmunda: A woman was beaten to death by her husband over a suspected extra-marital affair at Champajhar village under Mahuldiha police limits in Mayurbhanj district with an iron rod and a wooden plank, police said.
The victim was identified as Salita Munda, wife of the accused Uday Ho in the village.
On being informed by neighbours, police rushed to the village and arrested the accused husband Monday night. Police registered a case (66/25) and seized the iron rod and wooden plank used in the attack.

According to police, the couple argued Monday evening over suspicion of an extramarital affair. Enraged, Ho attacked Salita, killing her on the spot. Neighbours informed Mahuldiha police, who reached the scene at night and took Ho into custody.
Police visited the site with a scientific team, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem, Tuesday.
