Hinjili: A woman’s body was found hanging from the roof at her daughter-in-law’s house at Gayatri Nagar here in Ganjam district. The deceased was Rita Sahu (50), wife of Sarat Chandra Sahu of Ambagaon near Patapur.
Police registered a case on the basis of Sarat’s complaint and started an investigation. IIC Prashant Kumar Sahu said Rita’s son Sushant had married a girl from Gayatri Nagar April 21, 2017. After some days, he took his wife to Bangalore where he was working. His wife returned in October but opted to stay with her parents.
Rita went to Gayatri Nagar Wednesday to take her daughter-in-law back home. Thursday, her body was found hanging from the roof in a room on the top-floor of the house.
Those at the house said they didn’t know anything about Rita’s death, but Sarat has doubts over his wife’s death. The family didn’t inform him, and it was the police that called him first, he said.
