Bhubaneswar: The body of a woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her room Sunday afternoon near Devrai College at Nayapalli here. The deceased, identified as Pritijhara Parida, 30, is a resident of Palatpur under Ramachandrapur police station limits in Jajpur. She, along with her family, stayed at plot no. 1175 under the Nayapalli police station limits here in the Capital.
According to sources, Pritijhara and her husband, Susanata Kumar Parida, 40, were married for around 12 years. Susanta works as a linesman in Central Electricity Supply Utility of Odisha (CESU). The couple has a 10-year-old daughter and six-year-old son who both study in a local school. However, the couple had grown apart in the last several months and they often engaged in familial disputes over different issues.
Sunday morning too they had a heated argument over a petty matter. Later, Susanta left for work along with his two children. Pritijhara, who was alone in the house, hanged herself with her saree from the ceiling fan of their room. Her daughter returned from school and discovered her body hanging in the room. The locals informed the police who recovered the body and sent it to Capital hospital for post mortem. Police has registered an unnatural death case and initiated probe into the incident.
