Bolangir: A woman Sub-Inspector (SI) tried to end her life at a rented house at Gopabandhu Nagar under Saintala block in Bolangir district, a source said Thursday.
The female SI was identified as Kajal Bag. She was posted at Saintala Police Station in the district.
According to a local source, neighbours of Kajal heard her fighting with someone over phone Wednesday night. She allegedly consumed mosquito repellent following the fight over phone.
On being informed, police reached her house, rescued her and immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital in Saintala. Later, the cops admitted her to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for better medical care.
Kajal returned to her native place in Bhawanipatna after being discharged from Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. However, the exact reason behind her suicide bid is yet to be ascertained.
