Kolkata: In a shocking incident, a woman, a lawyer in profession, killed her husband at their New Town residence here last week after being fed up with his repeated sexual harassment.
The woman said she lost her cool and murdered him after he tried to force himself on her against medical advice. The deceased has been identified as Rajat De, husband of the deceased woman Anindita Paul De.
In her statement to police, the woman claimed that Rajat used to torture her physically and mentally.
However, police launched a further probe as she changed her statements on several occasions. A probe was launched whether she had committed the crime alone or if there was someone else who may have helped her.
“My client was subjected to sexual torture by her husband. Two months ago, she had to undergo a surgery for a medical condition in her fallopian tube when the doctor had advisted her to avoid intercourse for the new few months. However, Rajat tried to force himself on her,” said Chandrasekhar Bag, Anindita’s lawyer.
