Bhubaneswar: The vigilance sleuths Thursday arrested a woman Odisha Finance Service (OFS) officer on charges of possessing movable and immovable properties disproportionate to known sources of her income.
The anti-corruption agency had Wednesday raided several places belonging to Financial Adviser-cum-Chief Accounts Officer of Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA), Nalini Kumar Prusty, the arrested officer, and unearthed assets worth whopping Rs 6.87 crore.
The properties include two flats at Utkal Villa in Bhubaneswar worth Rs 1.8 crore, furniture and interior articles valued at Rs 1.34 crore, another property at Grand Asiana in Puri estimated at Rs 21.4 lakh, triple-storied building in Bhubaneswar whose value stands at Rs 49.6 lakh, six plots in Bhubaneswar and Jatni worth close to Rs 58 lakh, Rs 1.24 crore fixed deposits in four banks, Rs 22 lakh deposits in saving bank accounts, household articles of Rs 46 lakh and gold, diamond jewellery estimated at Rs 40 lakh.
This is one of the biggest disproportionate asset unearthed by the state vigilance in the recent history.
