Balangir: Balangir police have arrested a woman sub-inspector and a journalist from Bhubaneswar in connection with the alleged abduction of Balangir businessman Narendra Sahu, alias Gunda Sahu, police said Monday.
The arrested woman sub-inspector has been identified as Snehamanjari Sahu, and the journalist as Sanjay Jena.
Balangir SP Abhilash G said at a press conference Monday afternoon that the arrests have taken the total number of people arrested in the case to four.
Police had earlier arrested the alleged mastermind, Kshitish Chandra Sahu, from Bhubaneswar and Sanjit Behera of Tulsinagar in Balangir.

Notably, Snehamanjari Sahu is the sister of Kshitish Chandra Sahu, whom police have identified as the mastermind of the abduction. According to police, Kshitish conspired to carry out the abduction along with his sister, Sub-Inspector Snehamanjari Sahu, and journalist Sanjay Jena.
Meanwhile, Balangir police have picked up several people in Sambalpur and Balangir city for questioning over the past 24 hours as part of the investigation.
Police said they have identified all those allegedly involved in the incident and are examining various criminal aspects of the case. More arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.
