Bhadrak: A 21-year-old woman working as a data entry operator at a private hospital in Bhadrak was found dead on the hospital premises Wednesday, with her family alleging that she had faced mental harassment from some employees.
The deceased was identified as Seema Sahu of Karandimal village under the Mato police outpost in Chandbali police station limits. She had joined the private healthcare facility near the Bhadrak bypass September 9.
According to her family, Seema spoke to her mother Tuesday night and told her that some employees at the hospital were not speaking to her and had allegedly abused her.
The family has alleged that the alleged harassment led to her death.
Police recovered Seema’s body from a locked room at the hospital and began an investigation.
The incident briefly triggered tension on the hospital premises before police arrived and brought the situation under control.
Hospital authorities, however, said Seema had not made any complaint to them about harassment.
Based on a complaint filed by Seema’s mother, Atasini Sahu, Puruna Bazar police registered a case of murder (249/26), Inspector Sushant Sahu said.
The circumstances surrounding Seema’s death are being investigated.
