Berhampur: Railway police Monday recovered the mangled body of a woman from the rail track two meters away from the railway station here. While the identity of the deceased was unknown, the body was sent for post mortem to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.
Indications are that the woman committed suicide by throwing herself before a speeding train at about 9pm Sunday.
On getting information, the police reached the spot at night, but did not remove the body until this afternoon as procedure demanded the presence of a magistrate.
