Bhubaneswar: The caretaker of a working women’s hostel has been arrested on the charge he raped a 19-year-old girl at the hostel in Mentasala area near Chandaka in the capital Sunday.
The arrested was Pramod Pratap Singh (46). According to reports, the girl worked at the Mentasala Deras Seafood Park. She was getting ready for going to work Sunday morning when the hostel caretaker Pramod allegedly came into her room, grabbed her and raped her. He threatened to kill her if she complained about the rape to anyone.
After the act, the man fled the spot. The girl immediately called the police control room and later filed a complaint at the Chandaka police station.
Police said they arrested Pramod and sent both the accused and victim for medical examination. The accused would be forwarded to the court.
