Sambalpur: Forest officials found an injured tusker near Bhimakhoj Orampada under Sambalpur forest range December 9. The animal is under treatment for the last five days, but has not recovered from its wounds.
It has been groaning in pain while locals alleged that its treatment is being neglected. They said a special team of veterinary doctors should be pressed to cure the ailing mammal.
However, the forest department said the injured elephant is under observation and its condition has improved. The animal is drinking water and taking food.
