Nuapada: The bodies of a young couple were found hanging from a tree at Pawatala village near Dharmabandha in Nuapada district Sunday morning.
The deceased, identified as Siba Majhi (21) and Ranjita Majhi (18), were reportedly in a relationship.
According to reports, some local residents who spotted the bodies, alerted their family members and informed the police.
The police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
Police are also interrogating the family members of the deceased persons.
Though the exact reason for the act is not yet known, it is suspected that they might have taken the extreme step following objection from the family members for their affair.
