Keonjhar: A youth drowned while taking bath in a pond at Gudasashi under Patna block in Keonjhar district Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Gautam Patra (27).
According to sources, Goutam along with his friends had gone to the village pond to take bath. He slipped while taking bath and could not swim back to safety.
After failing to rescue him, his friends alerted the villagers. Fire service personnel reached the spot and recovered the body after hours of rescue operation. Tutumunga police reached the spot and sent the body to a community health centre for post-mortem.
