Patna (Keonjhar): A married youth allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous yellow oleander fruit at Sadhupada village under Badapatana panchayat in Keonjhar district late Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kalakar Munda (20), son of Chaitanya Munda of Jhatiali Sahi under Ghatagaon police station.
According to reports, Kalakar was under trauma following a squabble with his wife over some family issue Sunday. Out of rage, Kalakar took the extreme step by consuming the toxic fruit.
Family members spotted him writhing in pain and vomiting blood. Though he was rushed to Patna community health centre (CHC), doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police have also registered an unnatural death case in this connection.
