Jajpur: The Kuakhia police have arrested a 24-year-old youth for allegedly posting obscene video and photos of his girlfriend on Facebook.
The accused has been identified as Rama Chandra Barik of Mahabir Road under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district. He was arrested from his house at Manguli in Cuttack after the victim girl of Kuakhia in Jajpur lodged a complaint with the police.
According to the police, the girl was in a relationship while she was pursuing her studies at a private college in Bhubaneswar. Rama, her classmate, had recorded a video of their private moment and clicked some photos of the same.
Later, the couple ended the relationship after a scuffle. In a fit of rage, Rama posted the video and photos on the social networking site. The accused confessed to the crime during interrogation by police.
He was arrested and forwarded to a local court and then remanded in judicial custody after his bail plea got rejected.
