Balichandrapur: Balichandrapur police Tuesday arrested a youth on the charge of raping a minor girl and making a video of the act viral on social media.
The accused was identified as Azad Khan (24), son of Jahangir Khan, of Charinangal under Balichandrapur police limits.
Azad lured the survivor into a physical relationship and recorded the act on his mobile phone. Later, he forwarded the video to the mobile phones of his friends and others.
The girl’s family came to know about the incident after the video went viral on social media and lodged a complaint in Balichandrapuir police station Monday.
A case was registered and the statement of the survivor recorded. The accused and the survivor were taken for a medical examination before the former was produced in a court, IIC Rakesh Tripathy said.
