Sambalpur: A youth killed his 60-year-old father at Gandapada village near Thelkoloi in this district Thursday night following a verbal fight between the two over what the youth complained as tasteless dinner.
According to police, a heated exchange of words erupted between Sitaram Makar and his son Sanjeev. After some time, when the father was sleeping inside the room, Sanjeev took out a knife and stabbed his father. Hearing the screams of Sitaram, the family members woke up and tried to save the father, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have arrested the accused son and started an investigation.
