Baripada: A youth was thrashed by a woman for allegedly eve-teasing her near Gandhi Park in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district Sunday evening.
According to the complaint, the woman had gone to Gandhi Park with her child. While returning, four youths including Govind Singh and Laxman Panda, residents of Rupsa area in Balasore district, followed her in their bikes.
When she was passing through the Jubilee Library Chhak, they passed lewd remarks at her. She initially tried to ignore, but when the youths did not stop, she chased them and caught hold of Govind. Later, she thrashed Govind and handed him over to the police.
However, the other three youths managed to flee the spot.
“Based on the complaint lodged by the woman in the police station, Govind has been arrested. Further investigation is underway,” informed Ashok Kumar Nayak, Inspector in-Charge of Baripada Town police station.
