Nayagarh: Police Sunday recovered the mutilated body of a youth from a farmland at Jagatisahi village under Etamati police limits in this district.
While the identity of the youth was yet to be known, it appeared that he was murdered and the body dumped in the farmland by the assailant(s) Friday night. The body bore wounds and the throat was found slit.
Locals found the body and alerted the police in the morning.
Sniffer dogs and a scientific team were pressed into service for a probe. Police recovered a letter and a pocket diary from the deceased’s pants pocket.
