Nabarangpur: Tension prevailed high at Beheraguda village under Sadar block in this district after a wounded body of a local youth was found in mysterious conditions under a culvert Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Ishwar Majhi.
Majhi had gone out over some work and his family members grew apprehensive when he did not return home till late in the night. They launched a frantic search later in the night but failed to trace him.
Later, some locals crossing the culvert spotted the body Saturday morning and informed the family members. On being informed, police reached the spot and rushed the body for autopsy.
While no exact reason was ascertained, locals claimed it to be a case of murder as multiple injuries were found on the body of the deceased.
Based on a complaint by the deceased’s family members, police registered a case and launched a probe.
