Berhampur: The police Saturday morning recovered the mutilated body of a youth from a nullah at Haladia Padar railway flyover near Gosani Nuagaon in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Sonu Ghadei alias Jadu of Dhanamera Sahi from Bada Bazaar police limits
Sonu, who was working with the Berhampur Municipal Corporation as a contractual cleaning staff, had gone missing for the last four days.
Following a complaint from Sonu’s mother, the police registered a missing persons’ complaint and had launched an investigation.
Later, locals spotted his body after four days in the nullah and alerted the cops who seized the body and sent it for autopsy to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
While no exact reason of the death was ascertained, Sonu was killed due to a love affair, family members suspected. Preliminary probe suggested that Sonu was in a relationship with a girl of the locality. However, the girl’s family members objected the relationship.
