Berhampur: A woman was killed and six including three children sustained critical injuries after an auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a speeding truck at Haridamul Chhak on NH-16 near Khallikote in Ganajm district Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Minakshi Choudhury of Bhanjanagar area.
According to reports, the group, who were working in Khallikote Court, were returning home after attending a marriage function in Bhanjanagar when the truck rammed into the auto-rickshaw from behind.
Minakshi died on the spot while six others were grievously injured.
With the help of local people, the injured were shifted to MKCG Medical in Berhampur.
Khallikote Police rushed to the spot and seized the vehicle after sending the body for post-mortem.
Police are on the hunt for the truck driver who escaped from the spot after the accident.
