16,254 farmers in Champua to benefit from KALIA

Champua: The state government will provide financial assistance under KALIA scheme to 16,254 farmers in Champua agriculture district of Keonjhar in the first phase.

KALIA is aimed at making small and marginal farmers self sufficient and boost their economic backbone.

The farmers will be provided with financial help of Rs 5,000 each in five seasons, rabi season-2018-19, kharif and rabi seasons 2019-20, rabi and kharif seasons 2020-21.

As many as 7,792 farmers in Champua block; 1,900 in Joda block; and 6,562 in Jhumpura block will receive the help.

Similarly, landless farmers will be provided Rs 12,500 each annually in a phased manner.

Even farming families with disabled breadwinners will be provided financial assistance under the programme.
