Baripada: Police busted a gang of inter-state conmen and arrested four of them in Jharpokharia of Mayurbhanj district Tuesday.
Seven cell phones, Rs 3.12 lakh in cash, forged stamps of RTOs and MVIs of different states, forged money receipts and forged application forms were seized from the accused Bitu Behera, Dillip Nayak, Ananta Soren and Ananta Mohant.
They were into export and supplies business in Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Sometimes, they masquerade as government officials and collect fines from transport vehicles. Tipped off about this, police rushed to Jhamshola check gate and caught the four after raiding a location.
A case was registered against the four and they were produced in a court, the police said.
