4-member team visits ‘Swabhiman Anchala’

Malkangiri: A four-member team of the State Government led by Development Commissioner R Balkrishnan visited ‘Swabhiman Anchala’ in Malkangiri district Friday and took stock of the situation.

The team including Secretaries Mona Sharma, Ashok Meena, Nalinikanta Pradhan visited the area in order to review several developmental projects.

While Gurupriya Bridge proved to be a benchmark for the development of Malkangiri, the team will review the amount of success gained following its inauguration and the other necessary steps required for its development.

Malkangiri District Collector Manish Agarwal, officials of Works Department, and village development officials were among the others present at the location to assist the state government officials.

After the review the Development Commissioner said that Rs 100 crore has been sanctioned by the Odisha Government for implementation of various development projects in the ‘Swabhiman Anchala’.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in July inaugurated Gurupriya Bridge in Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district to connect 151 cut-off villages situated across the Balimela reservoir.
