Bhubaneswar: Four educational institutes from Odisha have featured prominently in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021 list which was released Thursday by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The NIRF was launched for the first time in 2015 and has been approved by Ministry of Education. SOA and KIIT have got rankings in multiple categories. In the overall rankings for top 100 institutes, four from Odisha feature.
They are Siksha `O` Anusandhan (SOA, 37th) Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT, 39th), National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT, 41st) and Indian Institute of Technology-Bhubaneswar (IIT, 58th).
In overall ‘University’ rankings SOA gets 20th position, KIIT is placed 21st while Utkal University is at the 87th position. In the Engineering segment, five from Odisha have found a place in the top 100 with NIT, Rourkela best at 20th.
It is followed by IITBhubaneswar (28th), SOA (32nd), KIIT (39th) and CV Raman Global University at 100th position.
In the ‘Management’ division, KIIT (31st) is the best among Odia institutes and is followed by Xavier University (34th), IIM-Sambalpur (61st) and International Management Institute, Bhubaneswar (62nd).
In the ‘Medical’ segment, four Odia institutes are among the top 100. They are SOA (21st), AIIMS- Bhubaneswar (31st), KIIT (36th) and SCB Medical College and Hospital (39th).
