Bhanjanagar: Ganjam administration decided Wednesday to set up a 40-bed COVID-19 care hospital at Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja College (KSUBC) premises in Bhanjanagar in the district.
The hospital will also have ten ICU beds that will be setup in collaboration with the state government and Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) authorities.
Minister of Forest and Environment, Parliamentary Affairs Bikram Keshari Arukha, Kandhamal MP and founder of KIMS Achyuta Samanta, including a team of experts from KIMS surveyed available infrastructure for the proposed COVID-19 hospital.
“KSUBC will be an ideal place for setting up the proposed hospital,” Arukha opined.
Special Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Vishal Singh, Bhanjanagar Sub-Collector Rajendra Minz, block development officer Anil Kumar Sethi, KIMS medical superintendent Dr Sitanshu Satapathy, KSUBC principal Neelanchal Muni and several other officials were present along with the visiting team.
