Bhubaneswar: The fifth edition of the International Radio Fair is now all set to woo the radio lovers from the city and other visiting guests as it is scheduled to open up in the city from February 13.
A number of local, national and foreign broadcasters are now scheduled to take part in the mega event. The two-day event has been planned to be organised from the premises of the Bhanja Kala Mandap from February 13-February 14.
A number of events relating to the broadcasting, disaster management, trailing history of radio, cultural programmes, and award sessions have been planned for the event especially dedicated to radio. A number of stalls of national and international broadcasters, community radios are slated to be installed on the site to create awareness of radio and the whole radio broadcasting sector of the media.
“This will be our 5th edition. This event has now earned the status of an international event and sought the attention of the radio lovers and broadcasters from across the globe. We often come up with stalls on radio sets of different area to woo the general visitors while we also have special attractions for the media students and radio enthusiasts,” Subrat Kumar Pati, convenor of the radio fair said.
Pati said that this time, the special attraction will be the RJ Raunac from Delhi who will be coming as a star attraction. He is known in the whole country for his famous on air comedy character ‘Baua’. On the other side legendary radio announcer Upendra Pahar Singh is also scheduled to take part in the event.
In order the create awareness among the people the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) has also planned to exhibit the use of radios under emergency situations. A number of other broadcasters from Japan, Bangladesh and France have also confirmed their participation for the two-day event in the city.
