Bhubaneswar: A total of 6,304 students from Odisha among the nearly 2.31lakh students across the country appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018, which began on Sunday .
In Odisha, 6,304 students were appearing for the examination at different centres in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela and Berhampur. The examination began at 9am. The Paper-I test was set for 9am upto 12 noon and the Paper-II test from 2pm to 5pm. The examination was being held with tech-support from the IIT-Kanpur.
Students were allowed into the examination centres from 7.30am . with a printed copy of the downloaded admit card along with an original photo identity card. The students would not be allowed to leave the examination hall till an hour before the close of the examination.
The results will be declared June 10 at 10am.
The category-wise All India Ranks (AIRs) of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after the results were declared. Text messages would be sent to the registered mobile numbers of the candidates. However, no individual rank cards would be sent to them.

The performance of a student in this examination would form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programmes (entry at the 10 2 level) in all 23 IITs of the country.
