Boinda: About 80 persons suffered from diarrhoea after eating ‘bhog’ at a religious ceremony at Lakshmanpur village under Antulia panchayat in Angul district Monday.
A medical team led by Dr Pradip Kumar Sahu and comprising supervisor Sisir Jena, health worker Sukanti Sahu, pharmacist Priyabrata Dehuri and ASHA Basanti Behera from Bantala CHC rushed to the spot and provided treatment to the patients.
The team also disinfected all open wells in the village. The critically ill persons were shifted to the district headquarters hospital. Chief district medical officer Dr Rabi Chandra Gadnaik said the situation is under control.
