Bhubaneswar: Excise sleuths Tuesday arrested nine drug peddlers and seized around 68kg of ganja from them during a raid jointly carried out by the Flying Squad, Cuttack and District Mobile Police team Khorda. The culprits were collared at Baramunda bus stand and Khandagiri area here.
The accused were identified as Santosh Kumar Behera,30, of Ganjam district, Chitrasen Pradhan ,35, Ashok Dighal, Biswanath Diughal ,35, Prasant Pradhan,30, Samsing Dighal ,26, Rinku Mallik ,19, and Bikash Kumar Pradhan ,18, from Phulbani district. Krushna Nayak ,24, a resident of Niladri Vihar in Chandrasekharpur police limits, was also caught in the raid.
The joint operation by the sleuths was conducted as per the directions of the Excise commissioner at Cuttack. The accused were caught red-handed with bagsful of ganja. Cops have started further investigation into the matter after taking them into custody.
