Bhubaneswar: Chandrasekharpur police Thursday arrested a person for forging the registration number of his auto-rickshaw. The arrested was identified as Mirza Mustaque Ali Beg.
Acting on a tip-off, a patrolling team of Candrasekharpur police found two Bajaj auto-rickshaws with different colors parked near a hospital in BDA colony. However, the autos have the same registration number (OD 33 J 5027). The puzzled cops immediately started an enquiry and found that the other auto belonged to Rahima Bibi, wife of Nur Mohammad, of Nilakntha Nagar in Nayapall.
When enquired by the cops, Rahima Bibi’s auto rickshaw‘s chassis number and engine number were found to be matching with the registered number.
Police made a scrutiny of the documents possessed by Mustaque and found that his auto rickshaw‘s number was OD 05 Q 6802.
