Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: Legendary Oriya Singer Pranab Pattnaik needs no introduction. To celebrate his birthday a musical programme ‘Pranab Pranam’ was held at Jaydev bawan Friday, here. Linguist Debi Prasana Patnaik and Prasanta Nanda inaugurated the function.
Pattnaik was felicitated for his lifetime contribution to Oriya music on the occasion.
Singer Swarupa Chakravarthy was feted with ‘Pranab Parampara Sanman’ by the singer himself.
Young and emerging singers Lipsa Mishra, Siddhanta Satpathy, Satya Sarthak, Anjali Deepa and Chinmaya sang ‘Keun naam dhari dakibi tumaku, Maa tume jagatara saha Bharasha and many more.
Interacting with Orissa Post Pranab said’ I am overwhelmed by the love and gratitude of music lovers towards me and Oriya music. Celebrating music is the greatest thing and respecting that I will go on singing as long as I live.’
