Dhenkanal: Two persons were electrocuted in separate incidents under Sadar and Nihalprasad police limits in Dhenkanal district Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Maheswar Behera (48), casual labourer of Lochapali village under Sadar police limits and Achyut Pradhan (35), a tractor driver at Icchapur in Pingua under Nihalprasad police limits.
Maheswar was binding rods for laying the roof of an under-construction house at Dahimal village when he accidentally came in contact with an overhead 33-kv transmission wire and electrocuted. He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Similarly, Pradhan was leaving home for work he his neck got entangled with a live wire and electrocuted. Police send the two bodies for investigation and registered cases in this connection.
