Kendrapara, Feb 10: A 17-year-old physically-challenged girl was allegedly raped by a married person last Monday while the minor girl was visiting her aunt’s house at Okilapala village under Rajnagar police limit, police sources said.
Pratima (name changed), the deaf and dumb minor girl, a resident of Mahakalapada area, went to her aunt’s house at seaside Okilapala village under Rajnagar police station a couple of days back.
Monday morning, while Pratima was alone in her aunt’s house — her aunt had gone to catch fish in the nearby creek — a 45-year-old married man, Sahadev Saunti, came to the house and searched for the minor’s aunt.
Later, finding the girl alone in the house, Saunti raped her. Pratima later told her aunt about the matter when the latter
returned home. Pratima’s aunt lodged an FIR at Rajanagar police station against Saunti for raping her niece. Rajnagar police
registered a case Monday against Saunti.
