Shergad: A man was killed in a landslip while digging soil under a foothill near Gobindpur village under this block in Ganjam district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Bhagaban Sahu (38) in Gobindpur village. He was digging soil on the foothill as usual when he was buried underneath after a soil mass caved in on him.
People working in the nearby forest rescued him critical condition and rushed him to the Hinjili hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case of unnatural in this connection, Shergad IIC Biswa Ranjan Nayak said.
