Bhubaneswar: With the passing of the Odisha Official Language (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik set an example for others by writing letters to all ministers in Odia.
Naveen has recently written letters to all ministers in Odia asking them to get ready for a performance review meeting scheduled to start May 8.
Naveen’s fourth year in his fourth innings as CM will complete May 21. The ministers have been instructed to prepare yearly report cards in the form of assessment reports of their respective departments.
Reminding the ministers about the promises made by his party in the election manifesto in 2014 for the overall development of the people, Naveen said: “Due to our continuous proactive effort taken since 2000 and the farsighted election manifesto, we have been able to win the confidence of the people.”
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers held May 21, 2014, it was in-principle decided to execute the promises made in the election manifesto on priority basis, he said, adding: “By doing this, we have created an example for other states and other political parties.”
In a letter to Cabinet Minister Prafulla Mallik, the CM said: “I had issued instructions to all departments to immediately execute the proposals made in the election manifesto. After 2014, you have also reviewed the progress made on execution of the proposals at your level every year and informed me.”
Meanwhile, by implementing a lot of important poll promises, the government has been able to say “we believe in work not in words”, Naveen said, adding he would review the performance made on the execution of the Biju Express Way and four laning of all major roads in the KBK region during the meeting to be held in presence of the minister and the concerned secretary.
