Sajanagad: A six-year-old girl was crushed to death by a car while she was returning home after classes at an Anganwadi centre here. The area falls under Khantapada police limits in Balasore district. The death caused tension in the area.
The deceased was Barsha Singh, daughter of Makara Singh of Amudhia village under Khantapada police limits. Barsha as usual went to attend the morning classes. On her way back home, the vehicle ran over her on National Highway-19.
Locals took the girl to the Nilagiri government hospital, but doctors could not save her life. Nilagiri police seized the vehicle. The car driver has been detained for interrogation.
