Angul: Three youths were thrashed by locals for passing lewd comments at a group of college girls here Tuesday. The incident occurred near an ATM counter at Chhendipada area.
Locals said the three youths on a bike passed lewd comments at the girls, also numbering three, while they were withdrawing cash from the ATM counter. The security man at the ATM counter asked the youths to behave, but the youths continued making obscene gestures at the girls. Some locals who noticed the incident stepped in, overpowered the three, and beat them up black and blue.
Police rushed to the spot and rescued the youths from the attackers. The three were detained for investigation.
