Bhubaneswar: A day after formation of Congress’ Screening Committee for Odisha, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has decided to announce the list of at least 50 candidates by August this year for 2019 Assembly elections.
PCC president Niranjan Patnaik Saturday informed this to newspersons here over the party’s preparedness for next Assembly elections. He said, “We will fight the elections to become the Number One party in the state. I am quite hopeful that the people of Odisha will not repeat the mistake this time,” he said.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi Friday formed screening
committees for five states including Odisha.
Senior party leader VD Satheesan has been appointed as chairman of the panel while Jitin Prasada and Naushad Solanki are the other members of the committee.
