Padmapur: A 20-year-old man died after he was bitten by a swarm of bees while he was on his way to work at his farmland in Bhundubahal village near Melchamunda in Bargarh district Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Umesh Mallick. The bees attacked Umesh after some birds disturbed the honey hive while he was crossing a tree.
People admitted him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. A case of unnatural death has been registered and the body was sent for post-mortem.
