Berhampur: The private bus owners launched an undeclared strike to protest against some decisions of the administration regarding plying of buses to the new Haladiapadar Bus Terminal, which was opened Sunday.
People waiting to go to different destinations suffered a lot due to the strike. According to the administration’s new decision, buses coming from other districts to Berhampur will go to the new bus terminal instead of the new bus stand.
The ones plying within the district and coming from various destinations to Berhampur will go to the new bus stand.
However, the private bus owners are not happy with the new decision, leading to the strike.
Demanding reconsideration of the decision, the bus owners have started the strike.
The plying of buses in Ganjam including Berhampur has come to a halt. Hundreds of buses were seen stranded at the new bus stand.
